Move to Heal: Why Rest Isn’t Always Right for Sore Knees

Sore knees or some diagnosis related to knees is one of the most common reasons for visiting doctors. And the first thing doctors do to all people with sore knees is prohibit them from any physical activity. Meanwhile, this doesn’t seem right and not physiological. Look, here’s the joint; around it is the joint capsule. Blood vessels don’t approach the cartilage directly; otherwise, they would be traumatized. All nutrients are injected around into the joint capsule and then gradually go to the cartilage. And if there’s no movement in the joint, the synovial fluid won’t mix, and the cartilage won’t recover. Therefore, the first thing you should start with when treating any joint is movement in this joint. If you can squat – squat; if you can’t squat – lie down and bend and unbend your knee. We overcome mild pain but don’t allow medium or severe pain. If we can, we do; if we can’t, it means we do as we can. It’s all straightforward.
